If you are not into having a full menu, it is possible to try a la carte dishes.

Chef Massimo Bottura was the very first episode of the Netflix series, Chef’s Table, and in his episode, you will be impressed by what this chef did and continue to do in Italy. Virgilio Martinez can be considered a curious chef. His menu is all based on Peru’s different ecosystems, paying respect to each altitude encountered in the country. The list of best restaurants in the world continues with two more restaurants located in Spain: #6 Asador Etxebarri and #9 Mugaritz. Another restaurant from Peru is also among the 10 top ones, Maido is in the eighth position in the rank. For #7 a restaurant located in Thailand with an Indian Chef, Gaggan is also making history transforming the way Indian food is presented. The 10th position goes to Steirereck, a restaurant in the elegant city of Vienna, Austria. As the positions continue, it is possible to see a diverse opportunity to pick a destination for its food, but two things are noted: Africa does not have any restaurants among the fifty and also countries from the Middle East are not on the list.

While we hope next years will provide new perspectives, we also struggle to find restaurants with female chefs. Even though the chef Ana Roš was considered the best female chef, only three on the list have a woman as a chef. It is true the world is a big place and tons of restaurants also deserve to be on the list, but it is also legitimate the way the rankings are created, the website leaves the manifesto open to all readers, click here to discover how they make the selection.
